Weslo Energy Plate Review

The Weslo Energy Plate Vibration Trainer The Energy Plate has a lot to offer for very little money.

We wish some of the higher end vibration plates would copy some of the ideas that the manufacturers have built into this machine. For example, you can change the vibration frequency from 30 Hz to 60 Hz in 2-step increments, a fantastic idea when it comes to gradually increasing your workout intensity. (See our guide to buying a vibration plate for help with the technical terms.)

The machine also comes with 8 different pre-set programmes for Upper body, Lower body, Abdominals and a Total Body workout. And if that's not enough you can ignore those pre-sets, design your own programme and operate the machine manually.

The controls are easy to read and there is also a Start/Stop button towards the lower part of the console, which comes in handy when you perform seated exercises or single leg lunges for example. See below for image of console.

The machine is very light in weight, making it very easy to move in and out of your way if space is limited. We also quite like the look and style of this model. Not very intrusive.

Our view:

We think with this budget model you get more than you pay for. However the motor is not very powerful and we would perhaps question long lasting durability. The Weslo Energy Vibration Plate also only offers Linear Vibration (please refer to our Buyers Guide) compared to other machines like the PowerPlate or Powrx for example that vibrate on all three planes.

Overall the Weslo Energy Plate is a nice addition to any home gym and you will get results, however truthfully when paying more for a vibration trainer you can also expect greater training effects.

Thumbs Up:

The Weslo Energy Plate display console Vibration frequency can be set in 2step increments (30Hz- 60Hz).
8 pre- set programmes offering lots of variety.
Machine weight makes it easy to store away (only 20Kg).
Handle bar is wide and conveniently high for different height users.
2 control displays that are easy to read.
Motor is fairly quiet.
Manufacturer 'Icon Health and Fitness' is reputable in the industry.

Thumbs Down:

Motor not very powerful.
Unit only offers linear vibration.
No upper body straps attachable.
Motor sounds a little bit like a sewing machine toward higher speed.
Max user weight is low. (110kg).
