Reebok V7.1 Plate Review

The Reebok V7.1 Vibration Trainer The Reebok V7.1 is certainly a vibration trainer with a difference. With its shape and size of the platform is lends itself to more of a multipurpose use as it is very similar to that of a step bench with a detachable support unit.

It has a single preset vibration frequency of 35 Hz with a high or low intensity option. The timer only allows for a 60 sec intervals or a continuous running of the machine.

The unit is supported by 4 rubber feet that also act as stabilizers. The touch button control unit is detachable and can be used as a remote control for the base unit. Communication is via Blue tooth.

The maximum weight restriction is 21 stone.

Extras: It comes with two detachable upper body straps, a free workout routine DVD, an exercise poster and a two week free membership to FeelFit , your very own online personal trainer.

Our view:

Compared to other vibration trainers this model gets the 'Thumbs up' from me because of its versatility. When the support unit is detached the whole base unit turns into a Vibration step bench, which opens up a whole new dimension.

All the strength and cardiovascular benefits of ordinary step training will be significantly enhanced if you perform on this 'Vibro Bench' as we would call it.

Whether we will see Reebok Vibration Step Training Classes in the future, will probably be determined by the price. We do however think it would be nice to see more vibration frequency options as our experience has shown that 35 Hz can be quite intense for some people. And therefore also the 60 sec timing option will be too long at times.

See how the Reebok compares to other plates with our comparison table.

Thumbs Up:

Shape and size lend itself to Vibration step training.
General size of machine is not overpowering.
Additional suspension through 4 rubber stabilizers.
Continuous timer setting allows for longer routines.
Maximum user weight should allow for power movement on and off the platform.
Touch button remote control makes operating easy in between routines.
Platform surface is non slippery.
The support unit is detachable.
Machine is quickly assembled, making storage easier.
Free DVD and workout chart are easy to follow.

Thumbs Down:

Single vibration setting of 35 Hz can be intense for beginners.
Lowest timer setting of 60 sec is too long for beginners.
No additional surface mats to reduce intensity are available.
Remote control requires 3 AAA batteries, its not rechargeable.
The base unit suspension is softer than we expected.
The support unit is detachable therefore a little 'light'.
The DVD content is only an introduction to vibration training not a routine.
