Horizon Merit V3000 Review
The V3000 is the big sister of the Horizon Merit V series, and is our favourite out of all three. Why? Well it's a lot of machine for not so much money. A really good-sized platform offering lots of flexibility for creative exercising. The vibration frequency options are absolutely sufficient for the home exerciser trying to tone and shape the whole body in a short period of time.|
You can even choose your specific timer settings in 1 sec increments. Alternatively you can work through 4 different pre-set programmes for upper body, lower body, abdominal or the total body.
The second console on the machine is really convenient designed as it allows stopping and starting but also programming the plate whilst you are doing exercises with both feet off the plate or in seated position.
The V 3000 feels like a sturdy unit and yet it is not too heavy for you to comfortably use the 'tilt and wheel' mechanics to move the machine in and out of storage. I thought the motor runs very smooth and the light suspension of the platform made the vibration sensation less 'harsh'.
Our view: |
Overall the Merit V 3000 is a good design with some well thought-through features. Suitable for the home exerciser that is looking for an additional way to get stronger, shape up or possibly loose some weight.
Unfortunately the pre-programmed exercises do not get graphically displayed on the console but instead you have a supply of exercise instruction cards to follow. That's a shame; it would have rounded the machine off nicely.
The maximum user weight makes the Merit V 3000 suitable for the slightly heavier user or for the person wanting to introduce additional resistance (i.e. dumbbells) to their vibration workout.
Good range of vibration frequency (Hz).
4 Optional pre-programmed exercises plans.
Free sound proofing mat, exercise mat, exercise instruction cards and upper body strap supplied.
High user weight allowance.
Both console allow stop/ start and programming.
Handle bar placement and width is very convenient for users of all heights.
Timer can be manually set with 1 sec increments.
Two fully operational consoles.
Good sized platform.
Convenient 'tilt and wheel' mechanism for easy move-ability.
2 years parts and labour warranty.
Pre-programmed exercises are not graphically displayed on console.
Moving machine on and off a soundproofing mat can be 'tricky'.
Only one colour available (black).
We would have liked to see upper body strap attachment sites not only at the side but also in front of the base.
